Information and Biography “I have been painting as long as I can remember. I paint with oils, acrylics, inks and encaustics. My mission, quite simply, is to find a way to paint the world I live in with beauty, truth and a little mystery.” My latest work consists of landscape paintings. My subject is the bush and land at my doorstep, my mediums are acrylics and the ancient wax based encaustic paints, and the results are richly layered paintings of sensual and mysterious fragments of country side. The series of paintings now hanging at the Cambridge Gallery are the result of an attempt to really see the land at my feet, to pare this picture down to an essence of the elements involved and to produce a semi abstracted version of my reality. I am dedicated to painting and been involved in the arts in Eastern Ontario for the past 25 years. I was a member of the inaugural company at the Thousand Islands Playhouse and have designed numerous productions at the Playhouse including “Blessings in Disguise“, “My Fair Lady“ and “Quarry“. I had the pleasure of coordinating the Gallery at the Playhouse for several years, teach drawing, adjudicate art exhibitions and produced the juried exhibition “Bones of the Mother” at St. Lawrence Island National Park in 2005. My paintings have been accepted in juried shows in Canada and the US. My work hangs in private and corporate collections across Canada, in the US and Denmark. I am represented by the Eldon Gallery in Waterloo, Cracker Crumbs Studio in Gananoque and am a member of the Organization of Kingston Women Artists. My studio is on Marble Rock Road, north of Gananoque, which truly is in the heart of the Thousand Islands. Although I am not teaching at this time, impromptu sessions breakout at my studio on a regular basis....
